Amazing church photography project complete

As he completed his last trip, took and printed the last photograph, Diocesan Archivist Frank Morehouse found it hard to believe that his Church Photography Project was finished. The rest of us could hardly believe that such an ambitious project – photographing the interior and exterior of every Anglican Church in New Brunswick – was actually undertaken and completed by one person!

A rather extraordinary group of young people from the Sussex area, assisted by youth pastor Brennan Caines and Pat McCaig from the Parish of Waterford and St. Marks, is headed for the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) Homes of Hope housing project in Mazatlan, Mexico on March Break. The dozen teens will be accompanied by Marilyn Mercer and the Rev. Allen Tapley as well as Brennan and Pat.
The team asks for your prayer and financial support in its efforts to raise just over $11,000. Cheques payable to the Parish of St. Mark’s (Mexico Mission) may be sent to Pat McCaig, 4 Needle St., Sussex Corner, NB E4E 2Z4. Further information about the mission trip can be obtained from Brennan Caines at Trinity Church in Sussex.
The John Howard Society of Fredericton seeks property in the city (preferably between Queen and George Streets) that can accommodate a 12,000 sq. ft. building including an agency office and 20 single-occupancy apartments for some of the most disadvantaged citizens of the region. Anglican World suspends publication, moves to Web-based format

Publication of a paper version of Anglican/Episcopal World magazine, published quarterly by the Anglican Communion office in London, has been suspended in favour of an e-mail distribution model, said Canon Kenneth Kearon, secretary general of the Communion.
Archbishop of Canterbury responds to Primate's letter

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams has written to Canadian Primate Archbishop Fred Hiltz to say that he "cannot support or sanction" foreign interventions in the affairs of the Canadian Church. Archbishop Williams was responding to a letter Archbishop Hiltz wrote to all the Primates of the Anglican Communion earlier this year in which he explained where the Canadian Church was in its discussion of same-sex blessings.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams today launched the official programme for Lambeth Conference 2008 Equipping Bishops for Mission at Lambeth Palace. Joining Dr Williams on the panel were Archbishop Ellison Pogo (Archbishop of Melanesia and Chairman of the Design Group) and Archbishop Ian Ernest (Archbishop of the Province of the Indian Ocean). Mrs Jane Williams outlined the plans for the Spouses' Conference which is being held alongside the bishops' conference. Jane Williams was joined by Margaret Sentamu. 30 bishops from 17 provinces around the Anglican Communion also joined the press conference.

Archbishop Fred Hiltz, Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, delivered a sermon at St. Paul's Basilica in Toronto. He said that at the very heart of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is the Prayer of Jesus that they may all be one, even as you Father are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe you have sent me. (John 17: 21)
Donor complaint reveals telephone scam

Large donation from Huron supports stewardship program

For the past three years, Canon Geoff Jackson, senior development officer at the national office, has worked with a team of experts to cultivate good stewardship practices at the parish, diocesan, and national levels. The program was called Letting Down the Nets, and in December 2007 it received a boost with a $200,000 donation from the Diocese of Huron.
Newfoundland bishop sets rules for clergy

Bishop Cyrus Pitman, of the diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador, said he expects clergy in his diocese who are involved in the Anglican Network in Canada and “working to the establishment of a parallel jurisdiction to the Anglican Church of Canada” would “do the honourable thing and resign their positions, relinquishing their licences to exercise ordained ministry in this church.
