Friendly and familiar faces at Brookwood

by Ana Watts

Three friendly and familiar faces will greet Brookwood campers this summer. The board of directors recently appointed Scott McKinnon director with Jens Jeppesen and Lindsay Parker as co-assistant directorsScott McKinnon for the 2009 camping season. Together they will create the kind of environment where young people can grow in their spirituality and have fun.

A former Brookwood camper himself, Scott is a third-year arts student at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John who plans to go on to get an education degree so he can teach in elementary school. He’s got lots of enthusiasm and wants Brookwood campers to have lots of fun while they grow in their faith.

Jens JeppesenJens and Lindsay are returning camp staffers. This year the assistant director and senior counselor positions were combined to create two, co-assistant director positions. Jens renowned musical abilities add a great deal to the camp experience. In addition to his administrative duties, Jens will lead the music and nature programs. Lindsay’s special leadership qualities make her a natural for administration and will come in handy in cabin supervision as well.

Lindsay ParkerWith a great staff and lots of improvements to the camp infrastructure, this summer promises to be one of the best ever! Many campers and staff have come to come to know God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit through living in a Christian camp community and experiencing the many natural wonders that abound in the surrounding forest. Swimming and water safety lessons are taught in the pool, there’s lots of scope for hiking and recreation, games and handcrafts, campfires and conversation.
