Leadership Foundations:  Introduction to Leadership, Team Building and Processes of Change – Saturday, May 12th, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm (Layreader’s Day with the Bishopat Stone Church, 87 Carleton St, Saint John. This session is part of the core training program for all layreaders in the diocese.  Presented by Bishop David Edwards, the session will consider a number of different leadership styles which can be effectively used in ministry. The importance of recognizing our personal way of leading and how to dovetail this with others. We will also look at ways in which we can lead change.  Register for the day here.

Spiritual Disciplines & Practices – Saturday, June 2nd, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at St. Andrew’s Hall, 214 Pleasant St, Miramichi. This session is part of the continuing education training program for all layreaders in the diocese.  Presented by the Rev. Thomas Nesbitt, the day will reverently reveal the importance of daily devotions and prayer while offering practical suggestions for cultivating spiritual disciplines in your daily life. ** NEW DATE ** Leading Worship as a Layreader – Saturday, October 27th, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Holy Trinity, 2 Hammond River Rd, Quispamsis. This session is part of the core training program for all layreaders in the diocese. Presented by the Rev. David Peer, this course will focus on preparation and the conduct of worship in a congregational setting. The course would provide structure and guidance for Layreaders who are called to lead worship independently in their parish or another parish.  The course would primarily cover the offices of morning prayer, evening prayer, and compline and will touch on conducting the burial office, using both the BCP and BAS. A free will offering to help cover refreshments would be appreciated.
