ASCENSION DAY CELEBRATION WITH THE BISHOP AT THE CATHEDRAL
The Bishop, the Dean and the Cathedral invite all the clergy and people the Deaneries of Fredericton and York to celebrate the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord at the Cathedral. All are invited to the Cathedral for a service of Sung Eucharist on Thursday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. The Bishop will be the President of the Liturgy and Preacher, with the Dean as the Assistant Celebrant, and Clergy of the Deaneries taking varies parts in the liturgy.
The Principle Feast of the Ascension is one of the Principle Feast Days (along with Easter, Pentecost, Christmas and All Saints’ Day) that a Bishop is to celebrate and preach in his Cathedral and so it will be a special occasion for the two deaneries and the Cathedral to gather with our Bishop in the Cathedral on this most important feast day. It’s a great opportunity since the Bishop is making his visitation to the Deaneries at this time. This celebration was endorsed at the April meeting of the Deaneries’ clergy.
There will be a simple reception immediately after the service, at the back of the Nave, with refreshments provided by the ladies’ groups of the Cathedral and each parish in the two deaneries. ALL WELCOME!
