A Course for Layreaders

The Layreader training program runs for two years and the course is broken up into 4 or 5 session units. The course is open to everyone who would like to persue all or some of the topics for interest. If you intend to become a Diocesan Layrerader at the end of the program you have to have been asked to participate by your Rector. This is an opportunity to discover more about the Christian faith and to do so in the company of others. The course comprises the following units:
See Through The Scriptures - a Bible overview.
Hospital Chaplaincy
The Gospels The Gospel of Mark
The Book of Acts
The Letter to the Romans
The History of the Prayer Book
Church History - an overview
Preaching  (2 Units).
Prayer
Pastoral Care
The Gospel and Culture
The Holy Spirit
An Introduction to Christian Theology
Evangelism Through the Local Church
There will also be a least one retreat per year.
