Camp Brookwood Staffing

All of our staff  must have leadership experience.  Perhaps you are a camper who one day dreams of becoming a counsellor.  If so, read on.

All staff must have had previous leadership experience at Brookwood or a leadership role elsewhere in a Christian atmosphere of at least one year.  We are looking for people who are good leaders, encouragers, and who are solid Christians.  The number of counsellors that are hired each year is limited to four with specialties in craft, nature, sports and life guarding.  In keeping with provincial legislation, standard employment practices, and having safety in mind, all applicants are required to fill and return an application form, and to have an interview with the selected Hiring Team members.  If offered a position, a criminal check is done by local police or RCMP must be submitted by the applicant. Also, a current First responder First aid certificate is a must.  (Any cost associated with a criminal check and first aid certificate is the employee’s responsibility).

• Counsellor-In-Training (CIT)
• 1.      Must be at least sixteen the year of  Camp.
• 2.      Able to work with others, and also hold responsibility on your own;
• 3.      Must lead by good example, both during activities, and during  quieter times
• 4.      Attend the CIT training during Week One “Teen Week”
• Craft/Sports & Activities/Nature Counsellors(3)
• 1.      Must  be at least seventeen the year of Camp;
• 2.      Able to work with others, and also hold responsibility on your own;
• 3.      Must lead by good example, both during activities, and during  quieter times
• 4.      Must be able to carry out expected tasks, roles, and supervise others.
• 5.       Able to lead devotions with their Campers.
• Lifeguard Counsellors(1)
• 1.      Must be at least seventeen the year of Camp;
• 2.      Able to work with others, and also hold responsibility on your own;
• 3.      Must lead by good example, both during activities, and during  quieter times
• 4.      Must be able to carry out expected tasks, roles, and supervise others.
• 5.      Preference will be given to an individual with their National Certificate.
• 6.      Able to lead devotions with their Campers.
• Director (1)
• 1.      Must have had at least one year in the assistance Director position or equivalent experience;
• 2.      Able to complete some work through the year to prepare for the Summer;
• 3.      Must lead by good example, both during activities, and during  quieter times;
• 4.      Able to uphold all Camp Brookwood  rules of conduct;
• 5.      Able to supervisor and create an excellent working environment for the staff.
• Assistant Director (1)
• 1.      Must have had at least one year as a counsellor or equivalent experience;
• 2.      Able to complete some work through the year to prepare for the Summer;
• 3.      Must lead by good example, both during activities, and during  quieter times;
• 4.      Able to uphold all Camp Brookwood  rules of conduct;
• 5.      Able to lead the C.I.T development throughout the summer.
